The NaNa Sauce Team
My name is Scott Fiedorczyk and along with my daughter we are the NaNa Sauce team. Mya works at Food Lion and is our lead sauce ambassador when not at Food Lion. She is a hard worker but always has a smile and positive energy.
Mya and I have been making my moms sauce for years. After closing down my food truck Smokin Joe's Barbecue I decided to bring the sauce to market with my daughter.
The history of NaNa Sauce
First of all, the biggest question we get is what is NaNa Sauce and how do you pronounce it? Well I have been eating NaNa Sauce for over 50 years. NaNa Sauce is named after my mother who Mya calls her "nana". My mom was raising a family of 5 kids on a tight budget. Somehow she always managed to keep us fed with great tasty food.
One dish I fondly remember is NaNa Sauce over white rice. She would boil up the rice mix in the sauce and we ate it up so tasty. Over the years the sauce use expanded I remember chicken on the grill, pork chops, spare ribs all covered or glazed in NaNa Sauce. Now we use NaNa sauce on almost everything. We use it as a dipping sauce a marinade a glaze or yes a BBQ sauce.
The sauce has a sweet and tangy profile with an Asian flare. The leading ingredient is the fresh live ginger. The sauce has the most amazing aroma and texture due to the ginger. The ginger combined with chopped whole garlic soy and other Asian based flavors rounds out the taste leaving a great aftertaste with a slight punch but not heat.
